Priscilla Ladouceur

Principal - B.E.S., B.Arch., OAA, MRAIC

Priscilla is a co-owner and Principal at Hossack & Associates Architects with over 23 years of architectural experience in designing and managing projects of varying type and scale. Since first joining Hossack & Associates Architects in 1995, Priscilla has been involved in all of the firm’s major projects including new buildings, additions, interior renovations, feasibility studies and master planning. A graduate from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, Priscilla brings exceptional design problem solving and team coordination skills to each project. Priscilla is an alumni of Skills Canada, having won provincial and national competitions in architecture at a young age, and now lends her time mentoring high school students in skills trades and young women as a career coach.

Steven Terra

Principal - B.Arch.Sci., M.Arch, OAA, MRAIC

Steven is a co-owner and Principal at Hossack & Associates Architects. He joined the firm in 2002 and currently has over 18 years of experience in both the construction industry and architectural practice. As a graduate from Ryerson University and Lawrence Tech’s Architectural Engineering program, Steven’s main focus in all office projects is in the Contract Document and Contract Administration Phases. His considerable construction knowledge, plus his technical skills in Architectural Contract Documentation are applied to the firm’s projects to ensure quality control, thorough documentation and construction logic. Steven is the firm’s lead on-site contract administration representative on projects ranging from M to M. It is this exposure and depth of construction knowledge that informs our contract documentation detailing, process and quality control.

Peter Hossack

Founder - B.Arch., OAA, MRAIC

As the founding Principal, Peter acts as senior coordinating Architect. He is an experienced Team Leader with over 33 years of architectural experience in the design and construction industry after graduating from Carleton University. His expertise in project management and consultant coordination on complex facility projects of all types and sizes has gained him a solid reputation for dedicated, diligent and expert project management. Peter’s has strong managerial skills, a detailed technical knowledge and a keen sense of integrated design solutions that involve a full understanding of the civil, structural, mechanical and electrical technical aspects of the project gained from experience in many complex multi-million dollar, multi-disciplinary projects.

Carolyn Smith

B.E.S., B.Arch., OAA, LEEP AP, RHFAC

Carolyn is an enthusiastic and versatile Architect with over 20 years of experience in the field, on a diverse range of project types and for a wide variety of client groups.

Carolyn’s specialized skills include: innovative and functional design solutions, creative team leadership, strong client retention, project oversight, and public speaking.

Chris Telfer

Associate - B.Arch., M.Arch. OAA, MRAIC

Chris Telfer joined Hossack & Associates Architects in 2012 bringing over 12 years’ of industry experience. As an OAA Licensed Architect, Chris offers a wealth of knowledge, particularly in the areas of Construction Practices, Owner Relationships and Project Management. Chris is a graduate of Lawrence Technological University where he attained a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Architecture. As a detailed-focused individual who is integral in the preparation and coordination of contract documents through to the project close out, Chris continues to manage numerous new construction and renovation projects, delivering them on time and on budget. Chris is also a Member of Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Christine Clark

Associate - Dipl.Arch.Tech., Lic.Tech.OAA., C.Tech., OAAAS, OACETT

Christine has over 16 years of experience in the design and construction industry.  As a licensed Architectural Technologist, she brings a wealth of knowledge in technical detailing, building science and construction technology with relation to complex large-scale renovations, additions and new construction throughout southern Ontario. She is responsible for Project Management throughout all phases, with special attention to ensuring technical aspects of design comply with regulations, preparation & coordination of design and contract documentation, building code compliance and oversight of sub-consultant coordination. Christine has also developed a long standing good working relationship with many Municipal Authorities and is adept at handling involved Planning and Building Approvals from site plan approval and building permits to variances, conditional permits and specialty permits.

Jonathan Knight

B.Arch.Sci., M.Arch., OAA

In 2013, Jonathan Knight joined Hossack & Associates full time upon completing his Masters of Architecture at the University of Toronto. He is currently a Licensed Architect with the OAA. Jonathan is a design-oriented individual with growing experience in contract administration through a variety of institutional projects. He is responsible for developing concept and schematic designs alongside the firms Principals, for multiple prestigious golf club master plans and feasibility development studies. His experience with developing schematic presentation imagery and conceptual renderings, allows clientele to visualize proposed development through all stages of the project. Jonathan has extensive experience with the building approval process from building permits to variances across multiple municipalities.

Shauna Coates

B.Arch.Sci., LEED Green Assoc., OAAAS

Shauna Coates graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Architectural Science. Shauna joined Hossack & Associates in 2014 and currently has 15 years experience in the architectural field with a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, building technology, construction detailing, the Ontario Building Code and working drawing production. She has worked on projects from preliminary design through to project completion and has extensive experience in institutional, industrial, commercial, and corporate building types. Her interest in sustainable design lead her to achieve LEED certification resulting in her becoming a LEED Green Associate. Shauna is dedicated to achieving sustainable, well designed and well-built buildings.

Karolina Slazyk

Dipl. Business Administration, Finance & Bookkeeping

Karolina joined Hossack & Associates in 2011. She graduated from Sheridan College’s Business Administration – Finance Advanced Diploma program. Karolina is the Financial Administrator for the firm and manages all aspects of the financial and accounting related process for the company which includes Accounts Payables and Receivables. In addition to her accounting responsibilities, Karolina also works with the management team to prepare budgets and provides financial forecasting and analysis.

Gukappirashath (Guka) Yogarajah

Dipl.Arch.Tech., Associate OAAAS

Guka joined Hossack & Associates Architects in 2017. He comes to Hossack & Associates Architects with a Honours Diploma in Architectural Technology from Sheridan College. He is currently an associate with OAAAS, progressing to become a Licensed Architectural Technologist. Guka effectively contributes to the creation of design visualization material alongside the firm’s senior staff, including conceptual modelling, three-dimensional imagery and virtual walkthroughs. He has composed various marketing presentations for several public and private projects throughout Southern Ontario. Guka has a high level of technical proficiency in architectural computer software, which he uses to develop conceptual designs through working drawings and construction phases. His core values of integrity, innovation and development can be seen in his work as he also continues to commit to team-building, and collective sharing of knowledge culture of the office.

Gabriela Betancourt

B.C.E, Dipl.Arch.Tech

Gabriela joined Hossack & Associates Architects in 2018 after graduating from the Architectural Technology program at Sheridan College with high honours. Gabriela is detail oriented, methodical and has a logical approach to contract document creation and consultant coordination. She produces detailed technical plans and 3D models using industry standard BIM software. Her analytical skills, desire to develop technical experience and previous Civil Engineering experience as a Project Manager are assets in assisting the firm in projects she’s involved with.

Kevin Barlaan

Dip.Arch.Tech., B.S.Arch.

Kevin joined Hossack and Associates Architects in 2019 upon graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree at Lawrence Technological University. His acquired technical knowledge from achieving an Architectural Technology diploma with high honours, together with his project coordination and management work experiences make him a skilled asset in numerous new construction and renovation projects. His core values of innovation and collaboration are evident through his work as he also continues to commit to team-building and collective knowledge-sharing in the office. Kevin is detail oriented and a highly organized individual that continuously strive for different ways to grow and contribute within our team in both design and construction administration.

Alexander Mayhew

Intern Architect - M.Arch., B.A.S.

Alexander Mayhew holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary’s School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Laurentian University’s McEwen School of Architecture. Alexander is a part of the design and productions team, while also providing support through construction administration. He effectively contributes to the creation of design visualization material alongside the firm’s senior staff, including conceptual modelling. His core values of sustainability and innovation are apparent through his work as he also continues to commit to team-building and collective knowledge-sharing in the office. Alexander’s graduate research focused on the importance of human-scaled design and how in-between spaces can contribute to place-making which are both key elements in our institutional projects.
